The report of the Executive Director of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV AIDS (UNAIDS) in collaboration with other relevant organizations and of the UN System is now available (E/2007/56). The report noted that the total number of people living with HIV in 2006 was 39.5 million, an increase of 2.6million from 2004.
