There may have been one second for you to realise what was about to happen, maybe you'll have even managed to register an expression of shock and maybe, just maybe a gasp as you looked up from the floor, your Ipod blaring away at what would soon be an empty vessel as the hooded gunman in front of you opens fire.
This is what happened to an estimated 32 people who were attending Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. Not only did the executioner kill these people and wound many others, it is believed that he took his own life as well.
People have no respect for life anymore. If you are going to do something stupid like commit suicide, at least have the courtesy to make sure you don’t leave a mess behind – it’s bad enough that whoever loved you has to now pay for your funeral and make sure that you brothers, sisters, kids, wife/husband mother or father are getting therapy for what you did. Who the hell do you think you are to take the lives of innocent bystanders and then not accept the consequences of your actions by committing suicide?
Only in America, the land of the free (until someone blows your head off in a massive killing spree) could things like this occur. Though killings and murder do happen in South Africa, these murders have never been entirely senseless and on such a grand scale and you usually have some warning. Then again, in South Africa, who cares if the culprits commit suicide or not, they get away with the crime anyway.
Is there no justice in the world? I mean, I know that life isn't fair-tell me about it- but with all of the problems in the world, do we really need more people committing more senseless killings? It makes me sick.
