Society for the preservation of Irish soda bread

The personal website of Irish-American Ed O'Dwyer is totally dedicated
to the traditional soda bread which is under increasing threat from
arbitrary changes in recipes (what O'Dwyer refers to as "bread
morphing"), a misunderstanding of the origins of the bread, and
commercialisation of the product. A history of soda bread is
accompanied by authentic recipes and a passionate explanation of how
this traditional food should be prepared and served in order to retain
its cultural integrity. The use of Dutch ovens for the baking process
is also explained. Intute.ac.uk

I had to post this as it reminds me of my childhood. My mother was a good cook and among our treats were Irish soda bread, potato cakes and drop scones (aka griddle cakes or flap jacks). Celia
