How To Present More Effectively

A Few Tips To Get Started

  • Keep fonts 18pt or larger (so people can read them)
  • Avoid sentences when possible. Avoid paragraphs 99% of the time
  • If you don’t know a lot about animation or transitions, don’t bother with them–it’ll do more harm than good (no one will notice it missing, but everyone will notice if you’re trying out “fancy new stuff”)
  • Avoid clipart. Try Flickr or iStockPhoto
  • Use full screen images to drive points home

My advice

13 online presentation creators

Posted by Celia Walter | 18 Feb, 2008

These applications enable users to create PowerPoint-like slideshows on the Web, share them, store them, and some can even be embedded in within websites and blogs. I would add that once the slideshows are complete, they can also be uploaded to Slideshare.net to be shared and displayed in widgets on Facebook and other social networking profiles.

Also, check out Mashable’s lists of 14 online spreadsheet applications and 13 online word processors.
