Getting the Most Out of JSTOR Webinars

Posted by Celia Walter | 5 Jun, 2009

Dear Colleagues,

You and your faculty are invited to an informative webinar on how you can use JSTOR in tandem with the collections developed by Aluka to meet the research or instructional needs at your institution.

JSTOR is a powerful research tool with over 4,700,000 peer-reviewed scholarly articles in a wide range of disciplines. The collections developed by Aluka are a unique set of materials with a host of exciting content types collectively offering more than 300,000 objects including images, video, letters, manuscripts, books, 3D models, photography and many others.

As an institution that has access to content available in both databases, this one-hour webinar will provide a perfect opportunity to discover ways in which these two resources meet and enhance teaching and research. At the completion of the webinar participants will have ideas on how to use the resources to explore topics through digital materials visually, intellectually, and contextually.

In the webinar, you will learn how to:

-Navigate the database structure

-Search and browse: both basic and advanced

-Discover individual collections and items

-Use the powerful tools available in JSTOR and Aluka to meet your needs

These webinars are open to librarians, faculty, and students who want to learn more about how these two dynamic resources can be used together. For more information about JSTOR or the collections developed by Aluka please go to our websites at www.jstor.org or www.aluka.org.

If interested, please select a date and time below to pre-register and feel free to forward this invitation to other interested colleagues. Please feel free to contact us at user_services@aluka.org with any questions.
