Carbon and Biodiversity demonstration atlas

The UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC) has launched a demonstration version of a new Carbon and Biodiversity Atlas (demo atlas, pdf, 5.5 MB). According to the UNEP press release, the atlas shows that areas high in both carbon and biodiversity exist and can be identified by relatively simple mapping tools. Prioritising such areas could give the double benefit of reducing emissions from land use change and conserving biodiversity.
