Are messages in school textbooks to blame for some of the xenophobic notions among young South Africans?

That's the question that research director, Linda Chisholm, in the Human Sciences Research Council's Education, Science and Skills development programme, tries to answer in her report on xenophobia and school history books, published in the latest HSRC's publication, Review.

The report is based on Chisholm's article entitled, "Migration, Citizenship and South African History Textbooks" to be published in the South African Historical Journal [available electronically to registered UCT staff and students from SA-ePublications]links to South African Historical Journal still be added
