Gender And Participation In The Arab Gulf

Middle East Women Politics and government Trackbacks (0)

This site provides free access to the full text of a paper by Wanda Krause which was published in September 2009 by the Kuwait Programme on Development, Governance and Globalisation in the Gulf States, centre for the Study of Global Governance, London School of Economics (LSE). The 43 page report studies the nature and extent of Arab women's political participation, focussing upon their activities in non-governmental organisations supported by the state and considering how this reinforces the power and legitimacy of the government. It is based on fieldwork conducted primarily in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). http://www.lse.ac.uk/collections/LSEKP/documents/Krause.pdf
