The United Nations Development Fund for Women’s (UNIFEM) publication on women and peace is now available. 

 

The publication is downloadable in English full text, it has been issued as a landmark on the 10th anniversary of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security (2000) and highlights commitments to enable women’s contributions to all stages of peacebuilding, peacemaking, peacekeeping and conflict prevention.  From UN Pulse

In light of the *8th anniversary* of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security; on the second of November, a three-week virtual discussion on “Planning for Action: Good Practices on Implementing UNSCR 1325 on a National Level” will be held.
Policy makers, governmental representatives and civil society actors from all over the world are invited to participate and exchange experiences, good practices and lessons learned on implementing UNSCR 1325.

The Secretary-General has issued his latest report on Women and peace and security (S/2008/622). The report provides a follow-up on the full and effective implementation of resolution 1325 (2000), incorporating information on the impact of armed conflicts on women and girls in situations that are on the agenda of the Council, and also information on their protection and on the enhancement of their role in peace processes.
