Well i've conquered the flu and i'm back at my gym-Gardens Virgin Active! tonight I’ll be partaking in: Kick boxing: A studio based med-high intensity, easy to learn martial arts based workouts balancing upper and lower body. includes V-box, Kata Box, Cardio Combat, Cardio Kick boxing, Femme Fatal, fight club and Box fit ( class definitions brought to you by the Virgin Active time table)...
Actually I'll be doing Kata box and although the class definition says it's easy to learn...it's blimmin hard to keep it up.Your kicks will go past your hips for the first 15mins but by the time the 60mins are up u can barely shake your ankle..... and although the class definition says it's based on balancing, i can't balance for Jack, so therefore the people who watch you from the other side of the glass encased studio will have quiet chuckles to themselves as I wobble to the unsympathetic demands of Norman B ( the instructor)... and although the class definitions say it's med-high intensity, it's just another way of telling you that you going to sweat like a pig, your arms will sting like they have pins and needles and you constantly have to dodge, duck and dive the upper cuts and lifted leg kicks of the person standing next to you ( who has arms like Madonna and stomach like a teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the first place). Then you'll go home have a shower and still be perspiring from the workout an hour ago! But isn't that the point!
Stay positive, the class is in three hours... I can get into this gym thing and I will be fit and healthy come December when I have to sit in a white bikini top and skirt sipping cocktails at La Med... (so hold thumbs and send me some motivation!)
