I gave a talk today on this subject to a group of UCT postgraduates in the "Write Science" course run by the UCT Centre for OPen Learning - thanks to Mathilde van der Merwe - following another by Sarah Goodier of Open UCT.  Hers can be found here; mine is below.

It was great fun, and rather educational for all concerned - including me, as I was surprised at just how many different aspects of social media the participants accessed on a regular basis.  I ran a Treasure Hunt with five scientists' names to show how different people had very different accessibility profiles, with the legendary AJ Cann of Univ Leicester being a clear winner.

It was also interesting that I managed, for the second day running, to NOT bring my presentation along on a flash drive - but that I could rescue the situation on both days by accessing it via Dropbox.  I think I shall retire if that site ever disappears....
