Royal Sechaba vs. Fedex

Royal Sechaba

Fedex

  • Fatty Food
  • NON-FATTY food
  • They count the amount of potatoes they give you
  • No counting of food involved
  • The same menu and the menu cycle is very very restricted
  • The menu cycle is very large

I do not understand why Sechaba is still in business. Their food is disgusting. They really need to change their business plan and meal plan if they want to continue being in the catering business. Their food is tasteless and oily. They do not serve a variety. I hope UCT will see our expanding thighs or protruding pimples, maybe if they do they will not sign a new contract with this company. This year has been a year of toture and many cold options with Royal Sechaba in my life….

Fedex is the way, they know how to feed hungry (weight conscious) students

50 Vs. Kanye

50 vs. Kanye

I felt that this was all just a publicity stunt to get people to purchase both the artists new albums that came out on the same date. September 11th. An important date to the Americans (9/11). For the public to be able to judge which artists album was better this meant that they had to purchase both 50 and Kanye’s new album. This battle was just to boost and make sure that both artists sold a relatively high amount of records.

This stunt was a great idea as it got both the artists albums noticed all over the world and this created a great anticipation for the releasing of the albums. Both Kanye and 50 are great rappers so putting them against each other gets a lot of people attention.

I feel the Kanye is the winner of this ‘battle’ even without even listening to both the new albums as I feel that 50 cent is unoriginal, boring and ugly. He is always going on how he got shot eight times and how gangster he is. If he is so gangster he doesn’t have to tell the whole world, we can figure it out ourselves. He uses his gangterism as a publicity stunt.

Is 50 just all about publicity stunt?

Will we ever know the real Curtis Jackson a.k.a 50 cent?

School Vs.Varsity

Its hard to decide which is worse of which is better....

I feel that both have pros and cons, as they both have a good and a bad side. I will illustrate them in a column.

School

Varsity

  • We are given timetables
  • We have to create our own timetable
  • There is no break after every class
  • We are given a minimum of 15mins break between classes
  • We can choose our subjects
  • We can choose our subjects
  • Textbooks are not too thick
  • Textbooks are extremely thick
  • Reading load is not intense
  • The reading load is intense
  • We wear uniform
  • No uniform
  • Everyone comes from similar backgrounds and homes
  • Everyone is diverse and might be from different countries
  • Academics isn’t everything
  • Academics is everything
  • There are strict rules you have to adhere too
  • There are rules but they are not restricting
  • Given help without really asking
  • You have to look for help
  • You can’t bunk class without the teacher noticing
  • You can bunk lectures without the lecturer noticing

There is no easy way in saying which one is better then the other. I feel that none is better then the other because where one seems better the other might be more reasonable. At first I thought that no uniform would be great,I have now changed my mind as it takes a lot of time to decide what will be worn that present day.

So school and varsity are kind of the same for me, not the experience but in general. The plus with being at varsity is that i don't live with my parents so i follow my own rules but the plus of being in school was that I lived with my parents and my laundry was done for me........

Am I Making A Change??

Nomalanga 02 October, 2007 14:33 General Permalink Trackbacks (0)

This is a queation i ask myself frequently..

We live in a country where starvation due to poverty is as huge dilemma. Is the problem that people just don't care becasue it's not that they don't know because we see homeless hungry looking people on the streets on an everyday basis. Starvation is one thing black and whites share in our country, why is it that the nation as a whole isn't doing anything to decreaes the amount of people who go to bed hungry???

why is it that we tend to ignore these kind of problems. we are a nation so we should all be there for each other, we are as family. A family isn't neccesary someone you are related to. There was an article in the sunday time in 2002 where 166 children in the eastern cape died of starvation.

there are many other caseswhere people and especially children have died..

if we all make an effort there can be some sort of change to this issue.....

do it now....!!!

When a friend of mine told me she is in love after being with her boyfriend for a mere two weeks I started to think is it really love or is it lust or infatuation? What does being in love entail? Do you have to know them inside out or do you just follow what your heart is telling you? Does anyone really know what love is? There are just so many questions concerning the meaning and the understanding of love...

Boys In The Club....

Nomalanga 12 March, 2007 15:22 General Permalink Trackbacks (1)

Why is it that boys feel the need to grind up on us girls in the club? It's like boy I don't even know you bout you're grinding your genitals up against my ass.... That's way TOO close for me. Just because I'm shaking my booty, don't think it's for YOU.....I'm just doing the booty hop.

Why is it that boys approach us from the back? Or even better..... don't approach at all. But if you really HAVE TO approach us PLEASE approach us from the front so that you can tell whether or not we want to be approached......

don't force us to dance with you. Are your friends such bad dancers that you'd rather force yourself on a girl who'd rather chew her own arm off then dance with YOU!!
